G.G.= SPOILED!

My Gran, or as the kids call her- "G.G"- left some Halloween goody bags for the kids the last time she was here visiting. I have kept them hidden since then and surprised the boys and Eden with them today. I wish I had recorded their expressions when I rounded the corner with this in hand:

They were so excited!
Collin thought he should pose with his bag...
and a lot of the stuff that was in it too! He loved this dolphin notebook, the perfect place for doodling and being creative!
And, who doesn't like a good treat- for only 100 Calories?! Collin better watch out, I might try to get my hands on those!!
Griffin was passionate about his stickers...

and his book!

Eden didn't have any trouble digging into her surprise either!
She enjoyed the tissue paper a lot, but seemed pretty serious about it all after that!
She got a funny
"Witch way to the party?"
shirt.
And then she discovered the bag
at about the same time the boys discovered their candy!!
And even more candy!!

Of course, I put the shirt on Eden right away and whisked her outside to take a few "My First Halloween and I'm 37 weeks old today pictures!" Ok, you caught me... I took the time to find an orange barrette for her hair. Come on, she's the only girl I have-accessories are sooo important!!
This one is my absolute favorite!

Painting NOT Carving!

Well, here are the much anticipated pictures of the boys painting their pumpkins. You must understand the potential mess factor here- first, Griffin and paint! Come on- I don't even need to go there. Then there's artsy Collin. Surprisingly, the only things that were covered with wet paint were tiny and orange! I'll take the small miracles! :-)

Griffin getting started- he wanted just green!
Collin's first idea was to make a smiley face!
Then he decided to add a little more color here and there. (Notice that he started off with garnet- you see his original plan was to make it garnet and gold!)
Still working!

Griffin decided he wanted to add a couple more colors, which of course prompted Collin to do the same!
WOW!!!
This was Collin's final masterpiece!

And Griffin's too!
Take note of all that paint on the tops! It took hours and hours to dry. But, the kids were clean, the table was spared from any spills or messes and we all had a blast! Maybe next year we'll try the carving thing... or maybe not!

My Cute Little Pumpkins

On Saturday, we had planned on taking the kids to Hunsader Farms, but the weather didn't look too promising. So, we opted to stay close by. It took us awhile to find a "pumpkin patch," but finally we arrived. The boys and Eden had such a good time looking at all of the different shapes and sizes of the pumpkins and I had a blast catching some great memories!

My oldest "little" pumpkin!

Being so big, he thought he could lift it all by himself, but quickly discovered he needed some help from his Daddy!
My second little pumpkin!
He gave some of the best expressions ever!
And, like Collin tried to lift one all by himself!

Eden had a great time exploring all the new things with her Daddy.
Right before we got out of the car, some water spilled all over Eden's shirt. I was so bummed because I was sure it would "ruin" the pictures.
Not to worry, the soft focus feature and one really cute little pumpkin completely distract the eyes from ever noticing!

She really liked this one!
All those great big pumpkins and this is what the boys found the most interesting!
Here are the ones that they just "had to have!"
A little too small for carving, but maybe we'll paint them up!
I had to take some pictures of some of the interesting stuff we saw too.
Check out this one!

The "pumpkin patch" was attached to a great fresh produce market. I thought the colors on these peppers were so brilliant and definitely worthy of being captured!
The highlight for the boys (and probably us too) was the fresh strawberry shortcake they were selling at the produce stand. Strawberry shortcake is one of my favorite desserts EVER!

Collin taking a bite...
...Griffin waiting for his turn!
and finally getting a little taste. He opted to eat the ice cream and cool whip only, since he still doesn't like fruit!!! Any pointers?! Boy, he is missing out!!

After the pumpkin festivities, we took a trip to Toys r Us. Griffin has been holding on to some money for awhile and wanted to splurge on a couple of things. He found this awesome Diego puzzle and decided he wanted to get it. He enjoys puzzles so much!!

Check it out- 48 pieces, just 2 years old- and wallah, it's done!
I'm such a proud Mommy!!
